Taft Reserve

About the Trails

Taft Reserve has several miles of woodland trails with some skirting the edges of fields. The trails are earthen and grass, the terrain gently rolling, and in general this park is quite suitable for beginners. There is an abandoned house and farm outbuildings near Linville Road. There is also one earthen and one stone mound on the reserve. Dogs and horses are permitted on the trails.

How to Get There

Taft Reserve is located on Flint Ridge Road about one mile east of Linville Road, southeast of Newark, Ohio. From Columbus take I-70 east to SR 13. Take SR 13 north 1.2 miles to US 40 in Jacksontown. Turn east on US 40 and travel 3.6 miles to Linville Road. Take Linville Road north (the only way it goes from US 40) 3.4 miles to Flint Ridge Road. Turn east on Flint Ridge Road (the only way it goes) and go 0.9 of a mile to the parking lot. There is a restroom at the parking lot.

The Licking Park District has description and location information and a trail map of Taft Reserve.
